Personal data we process
BrainSmith processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data we process:

- Your name, email address and the contents of your message when you use the contact form
- Business name and address details
- Name and address details of contact and billing person where applicable
- Name of the person who accepted the terms and conditions
Special and/or sensitive personal data we process
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years of age, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities, in order to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without that consent, please contact us at info@brainsmith.nl and we will delete this information.
For what purpose and on what basis we process personal data
BrainSmith processes your personal data for the following purposes:
– BrainSmith analyses your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website and to tailor the range of products and services to your preferences.
– BrainSmith processes the data you submit through the contact form in order to answer your question or request.
How long we retain personal data

Sharing personal data with third parties
BrainSmith only provides your personal data to third parties, and only if this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.
Cookies, or similar techniques, that we use
BrainSmith sets no cookies at all by default. Only after you consent does BrainSmith set analytics cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit this website. Your language preference is not stored in a cookie: it follows from the URL of the page you are viewing. For analytics, BrainSmith uses Matomo, strictly opt-in: no Matomo cookie is ever set and no request is ever sent to the analytics service before you give your consent. These cookies are described below together with their retention period.
On your first visit to our website we show a banner and ask for your consent to these analytics cookies. As long as you do not consent, the website stays entirely free of analytics cookies for you. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (localStorage), deliberately not in a cookie, so that declining genuinely keeps you cookie-free. Viewing, amending or deleting data
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by BrainSmith, and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold about you in a computer file to you or to another organisation named by you. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data, or a request to withdraw your consent or to object to the processing of your personal data, to info@brainsmith.nl. To be sure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but within four weeks. BrainSmith would also like to point out that you have the option of lodging a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
